What is Outplacement?

Outplacement Definition

n. The provision of assistance to laid-off employees in finding new employment, either as a benefit provided by the employer directly, or through a specialist service.

What are Outplacement Services?

When a company downsizes if often makes efforts to help former employees find new employment or training to help them fit the current job market. Usually, a consultancy firm, such as Hartley People, provides the services which are paid for by the employer. The firm supplies practical advice and support for individuals going through this transition.

Outplacement training can be delivered in group sessions or on a one-to-one basis. Outplacement topics include:
